MADDOX BATSON 'NO MORE' MUSIC VIDEO SHOOT

Social media is funny thing and while I typically kinda hate it, at times it does lead to some pretty cool opportunities. On July 10th, a buddy (Nick Barr) posted “We need a wake boat for a music video shoot asap who in Nashville can help??” on his private IG story. I responded and said that if they were on board to shoot the scene in Chattanooga then I could secure a boat (mind you the shoot was two days from that exchange). After a few texts with my friends Rondi and Kit, we had a boat secured curtousey of Skier’s Marine and Mastercraft . Cool and simple — no big deal... right?
The next day I got a text asking to hop on a call to go through options for locations. I figured yeah no worries, we have a lot of options with water in Chattanooga. That’s when I found out they were moving the entire shoot from Nashville to Chattanooga. This meant we had to secure crew and locations in less than 48 hours. Normally I’d panic, but this is Chattanooga and we can make anything happen here.
After a wild sprint of work and calling everyone I knew, we settled on some incredible locations that really showed off our community well — The Choo Choo (duh), the lake, downtown, the cyc wall at 148 Studios, and Deadbird Studios.
““There is zero chance we could have pulled off the shoot this short notice in LA or Nashville””
Although many people (especially anyone familier with Dynamo) know me as the guy in Chatt that loves helping students, I am professional music producer and creative director who has supported production for everyone from Usher and Eric Bellinger to Burna Boy and Diplo and many more. Although I was working as a producer on the ‘No More’ music video shoot, I saw this as an opportunity to get some of our summer students in the mix. Let me be abduntly clear, this shoot would not have been nearly as successful if the students werent there supporting. 100% of the photos on this blog were shot by a student, another students supported the lighting team, another student was a gear runner, and another student even filled an acting role when one of the actors bailed last minute. These students are the real deal and they immediately rose to the occasion.
Shout to the following people, teams, brands for making this possible:
Rondi Rhodes the plug for all things boats and for making sure we had coffee and food throughout the day
Kit Barnes at Skier’s Marine and Mastercraft for providing the coolest boat ever for the video plus THREE additional boats for the crew and gear
Kyle Delk at Griffin Road Media for the BTS video
Tessa Voccola for the BTS photos featuring the students
Michael Easparum at Department Blue
The Chattanooga Choo Choo for being publically acessible
Nashville Grind for being awesome and having the best coffee
And everyone at Dynamo Studios and Songbirds for supporting the insane ideas I dump on yall lol
