BEFORE WE JUMP IN…
THIS PROJECT WAS MADE POSSIBLE BY THE BOBBY STONE FOUNDATION AND THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA
WHAT IS A PRODUCER/WRITER CAMP?
“Songwriting Camps — Where the music industry’s greatest songs are crafted” — BMI
Songwriting camps are used by publishing companies to grow their catalog of songs written by signed writers. It’s a gathering of producers and topliners in a pre-selected location for the purpose of cross pollenating creativity and writing songs. A camp usually takes place in a spacious destination with a lot of separate rooms where writers can be divided into smaller groups. Often the purpose of the gathering is to generate material for a specific artist. Like Eric Bellinger, Justin Bieber, etc. etc. These camps can last for a few days or a week or longer.

Why Chattanooga?
Chattanooga is an incredible city. No seriously, ITS AWESOME! What we have to offer here is unique — The amenities of a big city without the stressors of major music metros. We have mountains, rivers, bars, venues, etc. What’s not to love?
At present we have a lucrative opportunity to bring in some of the best songwriters and producers in the country. The vision is to set them up in a cabin/airbnb on the side of Lookout or Signal Mountain to create for a week. Throughout the camp, these songwriters will also be shown the best of what Chattanooga has to offer. We will be taking them to the best restaurants, bars, and spots for entertainment in the city.
THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO SHOW OFF JUST HOW AWESOME CHATTANOOGA REALLY IS IN A VERY UNIQUE WAY!

How does this benefit local musicians and producers? How will this lead to meaningful opportunities for them in the future?
What’s the value added to the academic experience for students when you bring high level professionals into schools? (If you are new to Dynamo, this is the primary focus of our organization) ***

Our Vision for Students
During most producer/writer camps, the music is being created super early in the morning or late in the evening. But rather than sitting around during typical work day hours, our writers and producers will go spend time at a variety of local schools partnered with Dynamo Studios. While at the schools, the industry partners will spend time coaching and creating with the students.
Our Vision for Bolstering the Community
One of the main motivators behind hosting this camp is that we want to bolster the local music economy and support local creators. In an effort to support this vision, a handful of seats will be opened each day for local producers and writers. Seats for locals will be reserved for those that are pursuing a career in the industry, have a proven track record of success in collaborative spaces, and have been unable to access high level opportunities to expand their careers.
*** During this process, a handful of seats will be opened for local producers and songwriters to participate. This is not an open invite to just anyone. This is giving a very select handful of vetted LOCAL producers and writers a shot at working with high level pros AS A MEANS OF CREATING ECONOMIC MOVEMENT IN CHATTANOOGA. ***
*** There will be TWO OPEN seats per daY ***
Outcomes and Projections
PRODUCERS AND WRITERS: Participants in the camp will walk away with major placement opportunities. What this means is that when the songs land with their specific artist and the song releases, the creators behind the music will generate substantial income. Additionally, the networking and connections they build through this process will prove to be an invaluable asset. It is all about who you know in this industry (any professional in the music industry will tell you this). Building these relationships will play a critical role in creating future high level opportunities in the music industry.
THE CITY AND COMMUNITY: The city and community as a whole will benefit from having opportunities like this happening locally. It will make it clear that this city has many unique resources to attract high level creative industry professionals to our city to do what they do best — CREATE. This will make our city much more attractive to musicians looking to record here, people interested in moving here, and to companies looking to set up shop locally.
Producers and writers are VERY particular about where they like to create, and this opportunity will make it clear to procurers and writers abroad that Chattanooga is the place to host writer camps!
STUDENTS: Participating students will be better equipped to enter directly into the workforce or collegiate programs if they are regularly involved with programming in our spaces and our in school programming. Our programs will help them build the strongest portfolios and resumes in the city when compared to other third party edu organizations. Producer and writer camps like this will play a critical role in bolstering our students’ portfolios.
How Will This Showcase Our Awesome City?
Sharing the Chattanooga Experience: While in Chattanooga, we will make a variety of stops for dinner, drinks, entertainment, etc. This is a great opportunity to showcase the best that our city has to offer in terms of fine dinning and night life entertainment. While at each stop, our content team will document the full experience. All media will given freely to our restaurant and bar partners as a token of thanks. The resulting content will be enough for full ad campaigns for all participating restaurant partners.
Entertainment partners include:
Five Wits
Barrelhouse Ballroom
Social Media Reach: The scope of reach via social media for this project is quite broad. All of Dynamo’s sponsors and industry brand partners have agreed to share content that features their products. Between the followers of our writers, producers, and industry partners, our potential reach is well over 2,000,000 individual users on instagram alone.
Current Brand Partners Include:
Patron, Fender Guitars, Gretsch Guitars, Amphion Loudspeakers, Focal Speakers, Universal Audio, Walrus Audio, etc
Revenue and Sustainability Model
Dynamo has attracted the attention of many corporate industry partners over the years. Songwriter/Producer camps like this provide a high visibility opportunities for companies to advertise products (and the added PR value added by incorporating students is a massive bonus). We will sustain future camps like this through corporate sponsorship and partnership with major industry brands and record label support.
We are confident that this will become a quarterly opportunity for our community and will be funded 100% by corporate sponsors following the success of this camp.
Many of our future camps will follow an investor model as opposed to partnering with major record labels. Investors who contribute the full request will receive 10% of the publishing on every song produced through the camp. This is a VERY lucrative opportunity for local and regional funders. Additionally, Dynamo Studios will receive 5% of publishing generated by every song produced at the camps as the non profit benefactor.
